The Telos LRF XQ35 suits the hunter who mainly observes in the forest and on smaller fields and wants to know the exact distance to the animal before making a decision. The device has a built-in laser rangefinder that measures up to 1000 metres with an accuracy of one metre. The sensor is the same as on the XQ35: 384×288 pixels and NETD below 25 mK, so the image stays high in contrast even in fog and rain.

The measuring button is on top of the housing and the result appears on the display immediately. The laser is Class 1 (905 nm) and eye-safe. The device also has a ballistic calculator, and you load its data from the Stream Vision Ballistics app.

The 35 mm F/1.0 lens gives a magnification of 3–12× and a field of view of 18.7 m at 100 m. The detection range for a deer-sized animal is 1300 m. The image is shown on a 1024×768 AMOLED display, and photos and video with sound are saved to 64 GB of internal memory. The device connects via Wi-Fi to the Stream Vision 2 app, where you can view the image on your phone and update the firmware.

The LPS 7i battery gives up to 8.5 hours of operating time. Frequent use of the rangefinder and Wi-Fi shortens this. It can be charged with a USB-C cable or wirelessly. The housing is waterproof to IPX7, operating temperature is –25 to +40 °C, and weight with battery is 630 g.

If you do not need the rangefinder, the Telos XQ35 is more affordable. For large fields, where the animal is often more than half a kilometre away, we recommend the Telos LRF XG50 or Telos LRF XP50 models, which have a 50 mm lens and a 640×480 sensor.

How accurate is the rangefinder? According to the manufacturer, ±1 m up to 1000 metres. With a small or poorly reflective target, the measuring range is shorter.

Does the rangefinder work in the dark? Yes. The laser does not need light: simply point the mark in the centre of the display at the animal and press the button.

What does a detection range of 1300 m mean? It is the distance at which the device shows a deer-sized animal as a heat spot. To identify the species, the animal needs to be several times closer.

Can the Telos be mounted on a rifle? No. The Telos is a handheld observation device.

The Pulsar Telos LRF XQ35 has the same sensitive 384×288 sensor as the XQ35, but also has a built-in laser rangefinder up to 1000 metres.
