Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 Pro is a thermal monocular that detects the thermal radiation of objects, allowing you to detect them and see them clearly both in total darkness and in poor weather conditions. The main advantages of the Helion 2 XP50 Pro are its waterproof body, a high-sensitivity 640×480 NETD < 25 mK sensor with an F50/1.0 lens, which ensures a detailed image and a detection range of up to 1800m, and approx. 8 hours of battery life.

The Helion 2 is the successor to the Helion (first generation), with a number of improvements:

  • Significantly more sensitive sensor – NETD < 25 mK. This means that the Helion 2 XP50 Pro distinguishes smaller temperature differences and gives a clearer image, especially in fog, rain or low-contrast conditions.
  • Faster lens F50/1.0 (earlier models usually had F/1.2). It lets through more thermal radiation, improving image brightness and detail.
  • Magnesium alloy body – lighter, more rigid and with better heat dissipation.
  • Higher resolution AMOLED 1024×768 HD display, which produces a clearer, higher-contrast image.
  • Faster start-up.
  • Video recording in MP4 format.
  • Better image processing making the image clearer and sharper.

The new successor to the Helion series is the Telos series and for nature observers Lumon series.

Excellent value for money

Although the Helion 2 XP50 Pro is not the current flagship, compared with similarly priced budget-class new top models, it offers much better value:

  • better thermal sensor,
  • better lens,
  • better image quality,
  • greater real-world detection range,
  • weatherproof and durable magnesium alloy housing,
  • longer service life thanks to a more durable body and more reliable components.

The successor to the Pulsar Helion 2 XP50, the newer-generation model, is the Pulsar Telos XP50.

Designed for professionals

The Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 Pro is a second-generation model in the Helion series of thermal imaging cameras professionals. It was designed with the considerably higher expectations of professional hunters, professional wildlife observers, security staff and special services for a thermal imaging camera in mind.

Excellent image quality

The Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 Pro makes no compromises on image quality. The thermal monocular has a high-resolution (640×480), low-noise thermal sensor (25mK NETD 17µm), which gives it markedly better thermal sensitivity and lets you tell objects apart even in very difficult conditions where their thermal contrast is low. This sensitivity means objects can be detected even in the toughest weather, such as rain and fog.

The Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 Pro can detect objects at distances of up to 1800m.

Larger-aperture lens

Among professional videographers and photographers, lenses with a larger aperture are highly valued because they let in more light and significantly reduce exposure time. The lens of the Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 Pro thermal imaging camera has an aperture of 1.0, which improves object detection in more difficult weather conditions.

Higher-resolution AMOLED display

The Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 Pro thermal imaging camera has an eyepiece with a higher-resolution 1024x768px AMOLED display. An AMOLED display offers noticeably richer colours, deeper blacks and a higher contrast level. In addition, the absence of a backlight reduces power consumption compared with an LCD screen, and because the response time is very short (less than 0, 1 milliseconds), AMOLED panels produce no ghosting and provide ideal image smoothness for thermal observation. The display refresh rate is 50 Hz, ensuring a clear and detailed real-time image.

Pulsar Helion lenses

Interchangeable lenses

The Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 Pro thermal imaging camera lets you change the lens easily. The standard kit includes a 50mm lens, which is excellent for detecting objects further away. However, some observation conditions call for a wider-angle lens to detect as many objects as possible at once, for example when monitoring and counting a herd.

Larger-aperture lenses significantly widen the field of view, but they also reduce the detection range. The standard lens of the Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 Pro can easily be swapped for wider-angle F28 or F38 lenses.

Various colour profiles

The thermal imaging camera has various colour profiles, so you can choose the one that best suits your taste and conditions. You can also adjust the image brightness and contrast.

Image sharpness enhancement

Helion thermal imaging cameras use image sharpness enhancement technology, which makes the image considerably more detailed. Watch the video to see how image sharpness enhancement works.

Lightweight magnesium body

The housing of the Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 Pro thermal imaging camera is made of an ultra-light, strong magnesium alloy that ensures durability even in particularly demanding conditions. The housing has a slightly textured finish for an even more secure grip.

Built for Nordic weather conditions

The Helion thermal imaging camera can also be used in harsher weather conditions, for example in rain and sleet. The device's weather resistance meets the IPX7 (IEC 60529) rating.
